GIMAT Srl was founded in 1975 by Giorgio Magri (engineer), the current CEO, who has been assisted over the years by his sons Claudio and Marco Magri, also engineers.
Right from the outset the company was specialized in the production and use of flexible screw conveyors. Over the years it became diversified and started manufacturing rigid screw and spiral conveyors.
GIMAT’s conveying systems have been continually enhanced by various improvements over the years and positive feedback from the customers. They have been widely used in several industrial applications, including plastics, chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals and all industries that need to process raw materials in the form of powders or granules.
The extensive and ongoing distribution of our systems to Italian and foreign transformation companies has been possible thanks to collaborations with major Italian machinery and plant manufacturers which have rewarded the inexhaustible commitment of GIMAT to build reliable products designed to meet the needs of every single customer.
The company's primary strong point is the synergy between its technical office and production department, which allows it to develop efficient and dedicated technical solutions and at the same time promptly build prototypes while monitoring the entire production process.
The technical office has been using 3-D CAD stations since 1990. Today we rely on the potentialities of several workstations with SOLIDWORKS and COSMOS software for calculating finite elements.
The capacity to produce prototypes on a tight deadline is possible thanks to the high level of automation of our internal production process, which allows us to:
1. Develop three-dimensional surface geometries to generate the machine code (CAM)
2. Laser cut sheet metal using the previously obtained CAM
3. Press-bending of the cut pieces using 6-axis numeric control
4. Perform machining operations with chip removal by numeric control
Modern technology of the engineering process and building the product, along with the extraordinary experience of our skilled workers, allow us to compete day after day on a market that increasingly demands custom-made machines in a few or even just one specimen.
OUR BUSINESS
We design and build systems for conveying, batching, mixing and storing powders, granules, ground materials, and mixtures. We also build system accessories. Our 30 years of experience allow us to build systems which make it possible to integrate the equipment we design and produce with equipment built by other manufacturers.
Third-party machinery and accessories are supplied, upon request, to complete the system in cases where our range of products does not include them or when different dimensions/capacities are required.
The manufacturers and suppliers with whom we collaborate are specially selected for the purpose of supplying the final customer with the best technical and economic solution possible, while offering the advantages of dealing with one counterpart only.
